Your elected Green representatives
There are Green representatives on Islington Council, the London Assembly and the European Parliament. If you live in Islington the following people represent you:
Katie Dawson: Islington CouncilIn May 2006, Katie Dawson became the first Green elected to Islington Council, representing Highbury West ward. A mother of three (her third child, Abel, was born just weeks before the Election campaign!) Katie works for a local publishing company and has lived in Highbury for many years. Being a lone Green Councillor, she is denied the full-time administrative support provided to the other big parties, but has still made a huge impact in her first year as Councillor. Among the many issues on which she has been successfully fighting are vehicle Co2 emissions, the impact of the Emirates Stadium in Highbury residents and sustainable housing development. |
